Our homeowners wanted to maintain the existing footprint of their kitchen and living room while addressing some unique features—like a cherished stained glass window that provided both privacy and character. The challenge was to create a dual-function kitchen and living space that felt bright, airy, and relaxing without compromising the home’s personality.
To bring more calm and dimension to the space, we updated their recessed lighting to modern fixtures, adding multiple wall sconces for layered, ambient lighting. Soft textures—including pillows, throws, and textiles—further enhanced the cozy, inviting atmosphere.
One long, flat wall housing an outdated fireplace lacked visual interest. By extending the fireplace box by 12 inches, we created a defined living area that felt distinct yet connected to the kitchen. This simple architectural adjustment added depth and dimension to the open space.
In the kitchen, the focus was on strategically mixing metals, cabinet colors, and countertops while keeping the design modern, clean, and cohesive. Every detail—from hardware to finishes—was carefully chosen to ensure functionality and flow, while maintaining a serene, timeless aesthetic.
